The "Art" of Retrocommissioning
Event on 2012-08-01 17:30:00
Come learn about retro commissioning, which is the science of documenting and trouble-shooting energy use in LEED buildings over their lifetime. It's one thing to design a building to be as energy efficient as possible, and quite another to look at energy use over time. Is the building performing as or beyond expected? If so, can we further increase building performance? If not, can we figure out why? The talk will cover the basic principles and practice of retro commissioning, discuss the challenges of developing retro commissioning standards when HVAC systems are so varied and complex, and conclude with the emergence of persistence commissioning for providing deep and persistent energy savings in buildings.About the Speaker Jonathan Soper, PE, Co-founder of Enovity and Licensed Mechanical Engineer
Jonathan Soper has more than 19 years of experience in a broad range of engineering activities that includes building commissioning, operations and maintenance, facility energy audits, systems troubleshooting, project implementation and construction management. Jonathan co-founded Enovity in Year 2002 and directs the firm's activities in existing building commissioning, facility operations and maintenance, building automation systems design and troubleshooting, energy services, design-build energy projects, project management, and construction administration. He has presented at many conferences and seminars on the subject of persistence commissioning and helped to establish Enovity as a leading authority in this field.
